Not necessarily. To remake a Meyco safety cover, all you need is the serial number. If the cover is not available or the pool owner does not have a record of the cover’s serial number, it may be necessary to re-measure the pool.

Yes. As long as it meets the minimum specifications Your drone should have the following specifications:
– Resolution of 48MP or higher
– Capable of capturing images in 4k or higher
– Ability to change camera settings (to assist with light variation)
– Gimbal with 90-degree setting/toggle (for vertical images)
– Ability to hover
– Ability to download photos to a mobile device
In many cases, yes—depending on who is flying and how the drone is being used. We recommend using a qualified operator and following all local and federal regulations (including airspace rules and permissions) before flying. Keep the drone altitude at a minimum height so that the camera’s field of view captures all measurement discs, anchors and most of the pool deck.
Meyco’s MEY-Measure kit comes with the tools you need to complete a drone measure. With the Kit and your personal or business mobile device, you should have all the tools you need to complete a drone measure (also available without drone).
– Every MEY-Measure kit includes:
– Hard waterproof carrying case
– 8 Large Discs (1–4 and A–D) – no holes in discs
– 50 Small discs (for anchors)
– Obstruction / Hidden Feature Sticks (x2)
– Stanley 100-ft tape measure

If the pool can’t be photographed from directly centered, you can move slightly off-center as long as the photo still captures the full pool area and all required measuring discs. If needed, the gimbal angle can be adjusted to maintain visibility—just make sure the angle is recorded on the form.
Some deck features (like slide supports, rails, or blocks) may not be visible from above. If something is hidden, use 4 yardsticks to make it measurable in the aerial photo:
– Place one end of a yardstick against each side of the hidden feature
– Angle each yardstick so most of it is visible in the drone photo
– Place one of the blue/white Meyco discs on the estimated center point of the obstruction foot/support
– The visible yardstick portion will help determine the size and location of the hidden feature
– If the obstruction is part of a pool feature (rail, slide foot, etc.), record its diameter/size in the Notes section of the measurement form
You’ll submit: The required overhead drone photo(s) showing the pool and measuring discs, photos showing anchors or special deck features (if applicable), and supplemental cellphone photos of anything that could interfere with the cover. All photos should be clear, properly framed, and include all required reference points.
